Candle Lit Movement & Meditation

Join Kayla for a candle-lit night of meditative connection. We’ll be connecting with one another in circle and connecting to our own bodies, minds and spirits through guided sensual stretch and seated meditation.

Just as a candle flame flickers, we too experience subtle and physical shifts throughout our daily lives. In meditation, we build resilience to those flickers, or changes, and learn to maintain our stability, just as the candle keeps burning despite the air shifting its flame. Overtime, we learn to respond rather than react and burnout. In this 75 minute class you have an opportunity to deeply feel the subtle shifts within your being and the inner stability that keeps your light shining.

Spring Cleaning Workshop

Spring Cleaning Workshop

Join David for a buoyant and alchemizing class where we’ll dive into the essence of Spring, harnessing its energy to cultivate renewal, growth, and joy within ourselves. Drawing inspiration from Katonah Yogaⓒ theory, we’ll explore the metaphor of the body as a house made up of 3 floors, 9 rooms, and 10 doors.

First, we’ll lay out the blueprint and groundwork for our time together. Then we’ll transition into a seated breathwork and meditation practice, integrating the insights gained as we map this metaphor onto the dimensional landscape that is our body.

If the body is our personal abode, consider this spring cleaning - sweeping through each room, dusting out the corners, rearranging the furniture, and creating space for new possibilities and expanded vision both on and off the mat.

This workshop welcomes practitioners of all levels, inviting you to engage in self-inquiry that will spark your imagination and unlock new dimensions within your personal practice.

Hatha & Meditation Class with Guest Teacher: Greg Hines

Meet Your Guest Teacher:

Greg Hines is an experienced yoga educator with 15 years of teaching under the guidance of mentors in MN, NY and MD. In 2021, he completed his M.S. in Yoga Therapy from the Maryland Institute of Integrative Health. Postural alignment, mindfulness practice, energetic anatomy and theoretical frameworks for human health inform his therapeutic techniques and tools. Greg’s approach explores the intersections of Indian yoga philosophy, sacred geometry, five-element frameworks from Eastern healing traditions and an expanding catalog of yoga therapy research.

SUM + BODY Workshop on Saturday, November 18th, will be held at Yuj here in Fargo. Learn more below:

Life is all about how things add up.

The form and function of your body is the summation of your daily habits and techniques. Just as ballerinas expressively dance, sailors tie knots, and cooks finely chop, each of us engage in unique practices that take shape in our lives and bodies.

It’s in how you choose to use your time and inhabit your body that constructs character; makes you SOMEBODY!

In this 3-hour workshop, Greg and David will sequence Katonah Yoga theory with interactive yoga breaks; moments to observe and consider how our personal math might be different from someone else’s.

We’ll combine well-informed adjustments and prop-supported poses to help quantify our approach like a protractor or calculator aids the mathematician. Illuminating unexamined yoga habits and unrealized potential, participants will come to appreciate their practice reveals a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

We then live from a place of depletion, rather than fullness. In this 1 hour class, we will discuss the deeper reasoning for Sadhana and learn how we can make time in our days for spiritual practices.

This specific session will be a preview of sorts for a Sadhana series coming in the fall, so don’t miss this opportunity as it might be just what you need to make the commitment to yourself, your life, and your yoga journey.

Stay Cool: Yoga & Ayurveda for Summer

Through both the science and practice of Ayurveda and Yoga, we have the capacity to keep our body, minds, and spirits in balance despite the ever changing atmosphere we move and breathe in. Ayurveda means "knowing of life"; it is also sometimes referred to as "the science of life," and through its teachings, you come to know how to best treat your body, mind, and spirit regardless of the situation, season, or stage of life you find yourself in. Specifically, this workshop will give you tools for how to keep yourself calm, cool, and collected during the intense heat of the summer, or Pitta season as it is referred to in Ayurveda. The combination of Yoga and Ayurveda is similar to that of peanut butter and jelly if you will; you can't really have one without the other. So here, we will explore the combination in order to better equipt our whole beings to deal with the seasonal shifts.

You will learn:

1. Cooling pranayama practice(s)

2. Soothing asanas

3. Ayurvedic definitions and terms surrounding the seasons, and specifically the characteristics of summer.

4. How to structure your diet; including a light Ayurvedic meal to enjoy during the workshop as an example for what you might eat during the summer months

5. How and when to rise and sleep

6. How to take care of your skin and specific hygiene practices

And more...if you can believe it!

This workshops is open to all; no experience or knowledge of yoga or ayurveda is required.
